Top 100 guitar solos of all time

I agree with all of you who think that iron maiden solos should be listed here (halowed be thy name). When you are listening a solo there must be some background, nice intro, nice outro...

Where the heck is Queen??????

I like iron maiden (im ther fan, for gods sake) but you must agree with me, that queen got great solos (Innuendo, Kind Of Magic)

Aces high, The Trooper

True that not all good solos have to be fast and crazy, a great example of that is David Gilmour (pink floyd) Amazing solos and yet... so relaxed and slow.

I know I'm getting old,but don't give me a guitar solo list without Dave Murray,Adrian
Smith,Glen Tipton, Vivian Campbell. I don't want to continue because it's
embarrassing that the guys picking the artists are getting paid good money.
Need I bring up Michael Denner,Hank Sherman,Andy Laroque.

There are a few good choices on this "list". Stairway to Heaven almost has to be #1. It ain't the fastest solo ever, but it sound just freakin awesome. And for metallica, Kirk Hammet has some great solos, but they put the wrong ones in the list. Ride the lightning should be there and Orion insted of One. One has a fast solo, but it's not that original. I agree that kirk cobain should not be on the list. He is a good guitarist in his way, but not for solos. Now this is the part where I get mad. WHERE THE FUCK IS CHILD IN TIME FROM BLACKMORE? I mean come on, that solo should be in the top 20 minimum. Secundo, not enough Toni Iomi and Van Halen. Bot great guitarists which are mistreated. Anyhow, that list ain't worth shit except for maybe 10 or 15 solos. But the rest is crap!

[!--QuoteBegin--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--]It's pretty much a load of bullshit as far as I'm concerned. They do have some good songs on there, but what the heck is Metallica doing on there? Metallica's solos are fast. There's no substance or emotion to them.

I disagree 100%. Check out My friend of Misery, Fade to Black, Master of Puppets, Outlaw Torn, well just about pick any song and you will hear a great solo

I agree Eric... (oh, and why not register? [!--emo&:)--]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--] )

For instance I'm not a big fan of Metallica, but their solos kick ass. Look at Nothing Else Matters! :drools: [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Oh, and I'll agree that Fade To Black does have a solo that fits the song perfectly. Consequently, it's also one of their best songs. Master Of Puppets has a good solo, but emotion? I don't really think it has much. It does sound good, though. It doesn't even come close to the levels of emotion reached in an Iron Maiden song like Paschendale, or even Metallica's own Fade To Black.

I've never really been a huge fan of the band, of course, so I'm going to be at least slightly biased. [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I still disagree 100%. The FIRST solo in MoP has lots of emotion and it's not very fast. And it's during the "emotional" section of the song. The SECOND solo is during a faster section of the song so it's a fast solo. Metallica's solos were some of the best things the band had going for them. Most of Maiden's don't have as good of solos as some of Metallica's.
