Serbian (or Orthodox) Christmas falls on January 7th, plus we don't really get presents for it. New Year's Eve fills the same purpose in Serbia as Christmas Eve in Western societies. So as a kid I was definitely getting birthday AND NYE presents. Not anymore though :(
