The Worst of the Beast

A bit of a secret of mine is that as an album I don't much like Piece of Mind (just saying). That's my 2 cents.

I must respectfully butt in here, I feel Bruce Dickinson has never sung better than on Piece Of Mind. Quest and Sun And Steel still have a slight whiff of suck about them though.

I totally agree here  :ok:
regarding best Bruce's performance, I could switch those songs
Moonchild and Dance of Death - for his theartical way of singing -in the songs you've mentioned it's purly voice

While it's not my favourite, it's definitely one of his best.  I liked how he altered the vocal melody a bit during this tour.  :)

Yup, Revelations is definetly one of Bruce's best moments...especially Dortmund 1983 version.

1) Back in the Village
2) Sea of Madness
3) The Angel and the Gambler (the full album version)
4) Gates of Tomorrow
5) Invaders
6) Still Life
7) Die with Your Boots On
8) Innocent Exile

BLASPHEMY!  :o :o :o :o

1) Wildest Dreams
2) Another Life
3) Twilight Zone
4) Run Silent Run Deep
5) Gangland
6) Sun and Steel
7) Quest for Fire
8) The Duellists

There would even be potential for a double CD (not including B side material):

1) Back in the Village
2) Sea of Madness
3) The Angel and the Gambler (the full album version)
4) Gates of Tomorrow
5) Invaders
6) Still Life
7) Die with Your Boots On
8) Innocent Exile

The second CD is better than the first, though. Oh, and I hate Wildest Dreams so much that I deleted it from my itunes just to avoid ever hearing it (in shuffle mode, or whatever), because it isn't even worth the effort it would take to press the button to move on to the next song. Yes, that's how much I dislike it. A bit of a secret of mine is that as an album I don't much like Piece of Mind (just saying). I don't think the album Fear of the Dark has anything terribly dreadful on it, but it's very mediocre. And NPFTD isn't as bad as some think. And I love The X Factor. That's my 2 cents.

Triple blasphemy!

I don't believe that, I can see why with the other songs, but that one....whats wrong with it?
So if you can see why not the other two songs,  you're a double blasphemer? :D  For a forum that gives great value to personal opinion,  some certainly respect that.  For that matter,  I tend to skip most of SIT album.  There.  Anyone got a problem with that? -_-

Hey, I said nothing about blaspheming. Don't get me involved.

I can ask why someone has an opinion, can't I?

Lastly, yes, I do have a problem with you skipping most of the SIT album, lets fight.  :P

Yes I've already asked a detective to find out your address.  ;)

Ah don't take it personally Ardius,  I was just addressing the "are you out of your mind? how can you not like___" type of comments.  But tell you what,  once Foro's detective gets the address,  I'll be waiting for you at dawn.  What will it be?  Swords or pistols???  :D

Don't worry, I didn't take it personally, but I'd prefer lances if you wouldn't mind. Not been enough jousting lately, I think it needs a greater revival of some sort in popular sports.
If thats not possible, I'll go for swords thanks, more enjoyable to watch  ;)

I don't think there's anything wrong with it per se, but it just doesnt appeal to me (it's a little boring and there's better Maiden out there).

Wow...

It's been a while since I last posted something here, but now with this 2009 final leg in March in Brazil I'm starting warm-up sessions !

The worst of the beast...at least for me it's like 85% of bests and just 15% of worsts

1)Anything sung by the robot
2)Prodigal Son
3)Sea of Madness
4) Deja Vu
5) The Assassin
6) Run Silent Run Deep
7) Fear is the key
8- The Fugitive
9) The Apparition
10) Judas be my guide
11) Weekend Warrior

cheers
Marcus

I don't get your point Perun, but those nicknames are quite obvious...didn't have to explain them at all, I just wanted to be polite with Mister.

I refuse to talk about the robot but I do talk about Paul. IMHO Paul is the best singer for those first albums songs. Bruce may try but he simply can't make it.

Unfortunately Paul didn't run his career quite well, a good evidence of that is the DREADFUL project (The Rockfellas) he did with some Brazilian guys this year. It sounded like a bad college band doing some covers very badly. Sad (despite the fact that the drummer is Sepultura's current one and that guy kicks some heavy ass - the other players suck big time - they were from local bands in here)
