The Time of Year

Is it just me or does the time of year have an effect on how good an album or track, or even a band, sound?  I find that Autumn is the optimum season for listening to Maiden.  It gets dark here in Scotland at 4 in the afternoon so the drive home from work is always the best time to listen to X Factor for example!

I don't think I've ever enjoyed listening to Hallowed as much as on Guy Fawkes night last week - as I drove home there were rockets going off while Bruce was being taken to the gallows

Anyone with me?  Anyone?

Journey's Stone in Love is, in my view, the ultimate "summer" rock song.

Back to the point of the thread, if I really had to pick a season that seems most Maiden-appropriate, I guess it would be winter, but I think they're equally awesome any day of the year.

Seventh Son has always been a christmas/winter album for me, but that was only because I bought it at that time, and possibly the artwork helped. But really, none of it is especially season-orientated for me.

I'll agree on the Van Halen summer thing though. I'll also say that Adrian's Psycho Motel stuff suits rainy weather for some reason

Anyway, I think Maiden are awesome all year long, so I don't really have an opinion.

Early fall is definately Maiden's time. Powerslave came out right at the end of summer, same with SIT, then it starts to get dark earlier. I have a constant fear that something's always near. Then as you get closer to Halloween it's time for Poe and Lovecraft.
