The Simpsons and Futurama quotes thread

homers face is so funny in this

Owner: Take this object, but beware it carries a terrible curse!
Homer: [worried] Ooooh, that's bad.
Owner: But it comes with a free Frogurt!
Homer: [relieved] That's good.
Owner: The Frogurt is also cursed.
Homer: [worried] That's bad.
Owner: But you get your choice of topping!
Homer: [relieved] That's good.
Owner: The toppings contains Potassium Benzoate.
Homer: [stares]
Owner: That's bad.

^ That is a good one...

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

Lionel Hutz: Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Grandpa: My Homer is not a communist.  He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star.

I posted that earlier in this thread.  One of the best Simpsons quotes ever. :D

Strange, I never thought that one was funny.

I loved the whole episode.  Another great quote: "Lisa, relax, it's lamb, not a lamb."  Classic.

Now that Bush is gone, I'm waiting for him to appear in some Simpsons episode.  It seems they never put the sitting president in an episode, but Bush senior and Clinton have both been on the show already.

I remember seeing Clinton there several times when he was still president. And I also think there was a very early episode that featured Bush when he was still president.

They had Tony Blair when he was the current UK Prime Minister - and he got a lot of stick for that.

Was that the episode where they went to London and Homer got trouble with the Queen? Man, that one blew...

Although, now that I thought more about it, there was one thing that made me burst out in laughter and still does. There was a scene where they had British newspapers spinning, and one was the Sun running a headline story on Homer's trial, and a subtitle reading: "See naked Homer on page 3".  :D

That was the one. And where Homer got let off as long as they took Madonna back to the States (and she went kicking and screaming - "But I'm English").
Homer: (to the tune of The Flintstones):

Homer, Homer Simpson
He's he greatest guy in history.
From the town of Springfield
He's about to hit a Chestnut tree.
Doh!

Clinton made a brief appearance in a Halloween special while he was in office...
The one where Bart and Lisa gets superpowers... (Lisa smashed him into the floor repeatedly...LOL...)

Bush jr. was also shown once, when Marge gets amnesia...

Homer: "Here's me fighting former president Bush... and here's me fighting current president Bush..."

But neither had any lines....

Not sure if Bush jr. is going to make an appearance... He's not popular, anywhere, and he hasn't made anything out of himself after he left office...

But a boy can dream...

BOT:

Mr. Burns: I'll keep it short and sweet -- Family. Religion. Friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business.

Mr. Burns: What good is money if it can't inspire terror in your fellow man?

Business as usual... LOL

Seems like I'm the biggest Simpsons nerd here. But what can I do when German TV reruns them for years on end with two episodes per day?

Bush Sr had a brief appearance while he was in office. In the episode in which Homer buys the snow plow, he is seen in a daydream plowing away protesters in front of the White House after getting the order by president Bush.

Clinton appeared several times while in office. I don't know in which episode or under which circumstances, but he is seen walking down the street playing the saxophone while Lisa looks out the window wishing she was there; He is in a Halloween episode; He is dancing with Marge in the episode in which Homer changes his name to "Max Power"; and finally, he appears at the end of that despicable episode in which they buy a horse and the jockeys turn into fucking elves, an episode which I'd love to forget.

I don't accept that claim, my friend...

I've watched The Simpsons since I was 9-10, and one of the Norwegian channels show up to 7 different episodes every day...

I usually only watch 4, because the other three are in the morning... (I.E. before noon, so I'm still asleep... )

Aside from that, I also have every episode to date on one of my external hard drives...

;)

I watched the very first Simpsons airing in Germany, back in '91, and have been a fan since. I was seven back then. And they're on right now, and what can I say... it's the episode in which Bart joins the boy scouts, and the first thing that was on the screen was a video game depiction of George Bush Sr... and he was still in office then.

Think they started airing it in Norway, on TV3, in 1990... I was 10 at the time... And yes: Love at first sight... LOL

Is that the one with Ernest Borgnine, or the one where thay start the pre-teen braves and end up singing the Canadian national anthem at the end..?

Ralph: [whispering] Lisa, what's the answer to number seven?
Lisa: [whispering] Sorry, Ralph. That would defeat the purpose of testing as a means of student evaluation.
Ralph: [pauses] My cat's name is Mittens

Bender: I need a calculator.
Fry: You are a calculator.

Bender: Hi, I'm a naughty nurse, and I really need someone to talk to. $9.95 a minute.
Chat room participant: Oh, you're a dollar naughtier than most.
    [He hands Bender the money.]
Bender: So, how 'bout them Knicks?

Once in a while, a character is invented that is just plain brilliant, and becomes a instant part of our pop-culture...

Chewbacca...

The Terminator...

Robocop...

Bender is definitively among the best ever invented...
