The Next Album (expectations / desires)

Great! I'd love to hear some Blaze-era songs with Bruce and Adrian onboard, and some NPFTD and FOTD songs without Bruce's raspy voice. Also looking forward to see Adrian playing some of Janick's solos (it's a must if it's going to be only '90s material).

I read somewhere during the last tour, Bruce said that next album tour will feature some of their more recent material also.

If all this happens, it'll be a good way to round things. '90s tour preceeded by a new album tour when they'll play some of 21st century material also. But i'm highly sceptical, because of SBIT tour setlist. "Only Powerslave, SIT and SSOASS" became "greatest of 1980-1989 + Fear Of The Dark", so i wouldn't be surprised if '90s tour gets an imposter (three or four, more likely) from the '80s.

I guess we could have even more from the 80s in a "90s tour". We would of course get Iron Maiden and Hallowed Be Thy Name, but I guess we could also get The Trooper, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Wrathchild, Run to the Hills and The Number of the Beast. And that would be nearly half the setlist.

Out of the 90's material there are a few obvious choices; Fear of the Dark and The Clansman would no doubt be in the set. What would be interesting would be; which opener would they choose? Tailgunner? I guess if they will play Sign of the Cross, it will be later in the set (like on the Brave New World tour).

I'd really like to have Como Estais Amigos as the first song of the encore ... and to have Adrian play a solo in The Clansman.

For the next album tour, I really hope they will play Paschendale ... and Dream of Mirrors ... and Brighter than a Thousand Suns. If they play the two latter, we'd better hope they don't play them back to back. Poor Nicko ...

I bet Nicko could play them simultaneously if he wanted to

Janick plays one of his best solos on this track.

Is all this 90's stuff still a rumour? I almost can't believe it!

Afraid To Shoot Strangeeeeeeeersss!
Afraid To Shoot Strangeeeeeeeersss!

Yeah!

Because. (yup, that's the correct answer)

When i saw Adrian performing Janick's Tattoeed Millionaire solo, and Roy Z's Tears Of The Dragon solo, that was just wow! H could do some of Janick's shredding type solos, he would do them fast, clean and precise, with a bit of his weird timing and extra stuff to make it more interesting.

No,it's not a rumour : Bruce confirmed that their next tour will be an album tour and on the tour after that there will be the tour focused on the history of iron maiden pt.3 with songs from seventh son of seventh onwards,so 90's too.
They are following "a ten years plan" since 2003..

WITH Seventh Son???

Yes, that might truly mean the return of Infinite Dreams (or even the title track).  :yey:

I can't believe how you all, are optimist regarding alleged History III tour
they'll cover the 88-98 era with 7 songs the most...

Yes,because they havo to release yet maiden england and maybe,I think, live at donington 1992...so surely they will cover album after seventh son of a seventh son...but he didn't say until what album of 90's they'll cover....something from seventh son too...

have to, maybe, surely...
by reading your previous posts, it seemed that you have some more solid resources than that

@The Clairvoyant: Source please? :)

I don't really think they should do Seventh Son on another tour; they already did three from the album, which was quite a lot now that you think of it. The Evil That Men Do is played often anyway, so that's only four new old songs.  Infinite Dreams, the title track, and Only the Good Die Young would be great to hear though.

I don't think the current line-up will regard the 1999-now period as "history".

Do I read some contradiction here? ;)

You can hear it during the interview done on eddie trunk early this year :

I guess I expressed myself quite badly there. :What I meant was that I would rather not hear the same songs again as on the last tour; because they are perhaps the most popular from the album (except maybe Moonchild), they would probably be played again, hence me not wanting them to play the album again.  However, I would not mind so much if they played the three good songs they didn't play last tour.  Hope that clears things up. :)

However, I would like to hear The Evil That Men Do on the next tour as it is an excellent song and it hasn't been played as often recently as some other equally popular ones.  It wasn't played on the Early Days tour (duh), Dance of Death tour, the Matter of the Beast tour, nor the SBIT tour, the last of which I found very surprising.  So having it every third tour would be nice.  Playing it with an album tour would also free up setlist space from the next history tour.

Here's my prediction of the '90s history tour:

I agree with those who said that the post-SSOASS era history tour will consist of a lot of '80s songs. You have to have Iron Maiden, HBTN, RTTH, NOTB and The Trooper. That's 5 minimum. Then, they'll probably throw in Sanctuary and a track from SSOASS (TETMD / Clairvoyant / CIPWM), HCW and 2MTM were also standard during the '90s.

So, that's at least 7 '80s songs.

9 to go (for a 16-song setlist): Tailgunner, Bring Your Daughter; Be Quick Or Be Dead, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, FOTD; Man On The Edge, Lord of the Flies; Futureal, The Clansman.

Maybe Sign of the Cross instead of one of the longer songs. BQOBD probably the opener.

Despite the compulsory filler, could be a fun setlist, basically all of the best 90s songs weren't played in a very long time.

RTTH was left out several times in the past, it sure could happen again. The Trooper is also a bye-bye candidate for such a tour. Iron Maiden & Hallowed will be played 100%, NOTB 75% (or something ;) )

Really, this might turn into something great!

Key question: If they again will "only" play one (really) long epic, which one will it be? Sign of the Cross? SSOASS? The Clansman? Or more than one?

It's clear that on the next history tour (history pt.3) there will be songs from 80's with at least one from SSOASS.
If on the next tour which will be an album tour, clearly they will play the usaul classic songs and other songs from brave new world, dance of death and a matter of life and death, and from the 90's they should play only fear of the dark and in any case one song from SSOASS.If this will happen,on the tour after that they will play a lot of songs expecially from the 90's......with just something from the 80's....we have to see how next setlist will be,because it's correlated to the next tour again.
Anyway I think on the next history tour from the 80's they will play only "iron maiden","hallowed be thy name","the number of the beast","the trooper" and stop...these songs can't miss I think, from powerslave, somewhere in time and seventh son they should not play nothing on the next history tour, probably they will play one song from ssoass but only one.
I would remember a thing : Bruce said that future tours will feature more recent material...so 90's and 2000's...starting from the next tour that will be an album tour.
