The Next Album (expectations / desires)

It's what I asked.

You said that it ruined the song, so I wanted to know how much it is ruined. I guess it's not that bad.

About Magica, I thought it was the lyrics but now I guess it's the music.

So you do like fantasy literature? Didn't realize that either, sorry.

Hmm, Martin's works are full of esotheric characters and places. Well, I guess you like to read about those things but not hear, accompanied by music, or see it on the screen.

I prefer Tolkien's books over de films but the films still "worked". TV series could even be a better medium than film.

Maiden's super short version of ROTAM surely worked!

Listening to DragonForce as I was coming back from work, I realized that if the music is good, fantasy lyrics are acceptable or irrelevant.

Who are the Azdecks? I know the MAYAN calendar later stolen by the AZTECS is the one that ends in 2012 :p
Pfft, if the music is good the lyrics can be a cookie recipe for all I care :D

Wholey was the wheat,
That I ground into flour
Under the setting sun

This was no mere cookie
For I took pride in my job well done

That's right!  I make my own lyrics with DragonForce

"We're riding dragons"
"We fight with dragons"
"Dragons killing dragons"
"Marching on and on through fire and mist on our dragons"
"The dragon is bleeding for all eternity"
"Cry dragon, burn dragon, burn"
"Happily riding your dragon"  :innocent:
Etc.

I've anticipated Maiden albums for the last 12 they've put out. Who cares what they do next, YOU know it will kick ass, it always has, it always will.

It also says that the album is due for deletion because, well... it's utter bullshit.  I haven't heard any rumours what it will sound like, and how can it sound like both Somewhere in Time and Powerslave?  Those albums are sound-wise hugely different!  Also, as far as I know, Bruce never gave exact dates.  In Finland gigs he said that the next time they come they'll be doing an album tour, but that's it; no mention of even a year.

If there's a band that can make an album that sounds like Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, The X Factor with a dash of salt and sprinkle of cinamon... that band my friend... is Iron FUCKING Maiden! :D

But Bruce said during an interview that next tour will be an album tour...and there are many rumours that say that next year maiden should come back in south america...south american promoters said that maiden will come back in 2009.....so maybe next world tour will be in late 2009-early 2010....

in south america they should be back in early 2009...they will be back in australia too...on the next world tour!!!!!
so 2009-2010 world tour maybe possible...because in 2011 it's planned the third history tour....

Let's attempt some prognostication here...

Maiden finished their tour not too long ago, and they like to take a few months off after such things. With the end-of-year holidays coming up, I expect them to take a vacation through the end of the year.

So let's guess that they get back to work in January or February, and it takes them a few months to make the new album. Summer 2009 is a reasonable guess for when it might arrive. They might even try to get it out before the summer festivals in Europe, so they can headline a few of those again.

Of course, this all assumes that Bruce doesn't decide to do another solo album, which would delay things by a few more months at least.

In an IMTV interview, Bruce said that a new album would come in 2010, but hinted at "big things" for 2009.

I hope he does a solo tour in '09 though, as well as hopefully a new Roy Z/Adrian solo album.

so next world tour will be in 2010 too........

I am currently listing to Eddie Trunk.com.  Eddie is interviewing Bruce.  Bruce is basically saying that IM is folowing thier 10 yr plan.  They are going to finish the back in time tour.  Chill for ahwhile, put out a new album, then do early 90's back in time stuff.

Mysterio

Oh,yeah,I heard the same interview and he said that there will be history of iron maiden pt.3 and there will be the related tour with songs from seventh son of a seventh son onwards, but this is going to happen after next tour.

Great! I'd love to hear some Blaze-era songs with Bruce and Adrian onboard, and some NPFTD and FOTD songs without Bruce's raspy voice. Also looking forward to see Adrian playing some of Janick's solos (it's a must if it's going to be only '90s material).

I read somewhere during the last tour, Bruce said that next album tour will feature some of their more recent material also.

If all this happens, it'll be a good way to round things. '90s tour preceeded by a new album tour when they'll play some of 21st century material also. But i'm highly sceptical, because of SBIT tour setlist. "Only Powerslave, SIT and SSOASS" became "greatest of 1980-1989 + Fear Of The Dark", so i wouldn't be surprised if '90s tour gets an imposter (three or four, more likely) from the '80s.

This is great news! Hopefully the setlist will be closer to what its actually supposed to be (that is, no 80's stuff). Wouldn't it be great to hear Bruce on Blaze stuff? I agree Blaze sounds better on the late 90's stuff, but that doesn't mean I don't wanna hear those songs live...:P

so...on the next tour they should play songs from brave new world, dance of death and a matter of life and death and a lot of material from the new album..but I think this was clear.... :)

I can't wait...really......
