Sol Invictus

Megadeth
, I guess. I don't think this song is great, but it beats the competition for sure.

Dark Moor have good, dramatic cheese. Solid power metal with good performances all around. There's nothing groundbreaking here, but that's fine. Kinda reminds me of classic Kamelot. Rhapsody is even cheesier and just sounds like B-rate Blind Guardian.

Angra's vocals continue to annoy me to death, but I've never liked Fucking Hostile.

Symphony X vs. Dio is cruel, but it's made much easier here since we're dealing with one of Dio's "rocking songs about rocking" (easily my least favorite of his song templates). Egypt.

Medusa is lame as hell, but it's still 100x less lame than Manowar.

The sun has risen on Atlantean Codex. Meanwhile, Megadeth has an original version of a win. The Power of the Dragonflame version cannot overcome the Hall of Olden Dreams version as Dark Moor wins the "specific-version"-off. You'd think Angra would be the fucking hostile one, wouldn't you? Symphony X stands up and shouts...that Egypt won. Anthrax has hailed and killed those poseurs of Manowar by sending a fucking medusa against them. Now that's real rock and roll.

Candlemass, easily.

The Greys is less insane than most Devy, but it just doesn't do anything for me. Dio-less Rainbow also does very little for me, but I like Spotlight Kid enough to give it my vote here.

Bring the Noise because it's not Slipknot.

Unleash The Archers every time.

A rare Tarot appearance.

I'll default onto "which is more metal" for the final round and the answer is neither. One is glam rock disguised as something edgier, one is pop with heavy chords. I honestly could care less. Going Under.

Faith No More (I can actually tolerate Patton here!)

Rainbow, because Blackmore

Neither, but picking Anthrax, primarily because of band bias, I guess

Unarch the Leashers

While Heaven Wept
interests me more, musically

Guns 'n' Roses, because I don't care everybody hates the band, I think they're quite enjoyable

Rainbow's Spotlight Kid is so classic. Its instrumental section is what Bruce could have done with his recent solo album. What a feature in a shorter rocker! After all these years!

Evanescence's Going Under could have been a Nightwish song, which says to its quality.

Tarot's Stigmata (I Feel For You) is underrated. So Dio-esque and classic sounding. One of the discoveries for sure.

Unleash The Archers manages to sound modern/early 2000's and with classic metal melodies, which is cool.
