Tough and interesting matchups here.
CTG's Favorite Sin is a nice glam, Jethro Tull with its specific style is not for everyone.
Sinner vs Sign Of The Southern Cross is a tough matchup. The former is classic and effective 70's Priest with its tempo, riffs, chorus and solo (live is better), while the latter is classic BS with an epic and magical vibe. Which to choose? Tempo and fun or heavy groove and epicness... both deserve to win, but the whole vibe and verse vocals of Southern Cross are just too good to ignore.
70's Priest is not my favorite era, but Dissident Aggressor is brutally good. At the same time, Yngwie's I Am A Viking is also really good, sounds classic and feels epic. Melodic chorus, riff, melodies and solo. Tough choice again, but I will prefer classic metal than thrash-esque song, although Priest's song is so captivating.
The music of Fight Fire With Fire is great, but the vocal ideas can't touch BS's Die Young. One of their melodic classics. So good and perfect ideas.
Musically it's probably not better, but fun melodic glam (with cool riff too) than thrash metal, so Ratt.
Helloween's How Many Tears vs Gamma Ray's Heading For Tomorrow. No that's impossible! How to choose between these two big and fantastic classics. Every part of the former is perfect and awesome, especially chorus and melodies. The latter is so emotional with great playing (the riff is too similar to Priest's '76 classic though) and ideas (the keys are a great touch). Also, unique structure. Love the calm middle part. Not to mention the instrumental section, riffs and drumming, of both. It could have been a Helloween song, but it has its own identity. It's a tie really, but I'll go with Heading For Tomorrow because of the (a little bigger) impact... well, today.
