The first «thing» I heard of Maiden wasn't even a full song, it was just the intro of The Number of the Beast on a Stickdeath clip, back when he used to released clips. It didn't take too much time before I downloaded the song because I was curious and all. I must have been around 15-16 years old at that time.

the first song i heard was children of the damned. My friend had an Iron Maiden Record and he said it was cool.

Two minutes to midnight

in my friend`s house , we found a remix tape with a new heavy metal songs that he brought from one of his trips to USA and we were in HONDURAS (my country)...
chilling out and his room........ and from then ON.... Maiden became my favorite EVER..........

By the way In HONDURAS WE LOVE MAIDEN..........

The Ides of March/Wrathchild, when I borrowed a friend's 8 track of Killers in 1981.

First song I heard was "Hallowed be thy name" and I don't think there was any better way to become hooked to Iron Maiden. I'm just glad the first song I heard wasn't "Holy Smoke" because I probably wouldn't have given Maiden another chance.

The first Iron Maiden song I heard was Wasted Years.

I won 2 cassettes in a poker game back in 1989. The cassetes I won were called "Hot Metal" (the Wasted Years single under a different title) and the 2 Minutes to Midnight single. I popped the cassette on when I got home and they've been my favourite band ever since.

My first song was Fallen Angel, from the Brave New World album... A mate told me to listen to a song of Kiss,because he thought it was a great band, so I downloaded a song from Kiss, named: Detroit Rock City...
When I heard it, I was overwhelmed, what sheer greatness must this band be! I downed some more songs, but they were al bad, compared to the first one... When I told my mate my feelings about this band I listened to some songs of Kiss at his place, including Detroit Rock City... And I thought: " 'Kin hell! That's a totally different song! " So when i got home I imediately put part of the lyrics I heard on Google and I found the band's name was Iron Maiden... 've been hooked ever since!
As you can see my experience was predestined! [!--emo&:lol:--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/lol[1].gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'lol[1].gif\' /][!--endemo--]

First song was 'Running Free' from a friend that was (and still is to this day to a lesser extent) into Maiden, AC/DC and Metallica. Can't remember when it was exactly, but early-mid 80s.

Hooked ever since, even if I lost touch a little during the early 90s (didn't buy NPFTD). Had more faith when I bought FOTD and totally converted to the modern Maiden the second I heard the 'Man on the Edge' single. I couldn't believe that another Maiden record (TXF) could do this to me again. It was like discovering them again.

Cheers

If memory serves , it was Wrathchild off of the Metal For Muthas compilation.

Back before MTV sucked I saw the video for Wasted Years. This was quickly followed by the purchase of several albums.

First song I heard was Remember Tomorrow, and thats the day I was born, anew.

First Iron Maiden song I remember hearing was Flight of the Icarus, this was also the first Iron Maiden video I ever saw.When I was a litte metalhead growing up I would watch my dads old music video tapes, was turned onto some great music threw those tapes haha.

I got into Iron Maiden very late, [!--emo&:(--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I had heard Run To The Hills a lot, I dislike it.

But, the song that REALLY made me get into Maiden was The Fallen Angel.

I saw it on Kazaa, and decided to try them out, one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I still remember that cold afternoon of mid 1999. It was Saturday. At that time I had English classes at the morning time. That day, a classmate took some "rock" Cds from her husband to show to the class. In the middle of they was Fear of The Dark, Japanese version.

It must be said that at this time I was entering the rock/metal world. All the music I knew was Metallica's Black album and Guns and Roses's Appetite for Destruction. Funny thing was that when my parents would go to the supermarket, my and my sister would go the cd store. And I always looked to the Maiden Cds and wondered "what kind of music was in those albums ?" (I clearly remember thinking of that holding a No Prayer copy in hands...)

Well, I borrowed Fear of The Dark for a week. Man, I was afraid of hearing that. I was expecting to hear some Cradle of Filth, mixed with Sepultura and some King Diamond I guess. Also I was expecting for some evil and wicked creature to jump from the cd booklet at my face at any moment ! I held the cd with much caution, like it was dripping blood or something ! [!--emo&:lol:--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/lol[1].gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'lol[1].gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I put it in the Cd player and hit play.

<Killer drum intro>
<Killer guitar-riff intro>

I was amazed...

<Killer and fucking scream at the beggining of the song>

I STOPPED IT !

I could not believe that any human being could "sing" like that !

I played it again.....

The rest is history [!--emo&:rock:--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
