The Final Frontier on Youtube?!

I've already seen friends favouring and rating songs from TFF.I don't mind at all.
But I've also seen download links on major sites. This sucks.

But it's OK that tons of people on here gave their emails asking for a download link? This album is a HUGE deal and you have to expect to see it all over the net.

From the point of view of a fan I understand how someone wants to listen to the album and get the link.I'm not accusing anyone.  :P

It's just that I found the link posted on some official Metal Hammer site and there were no spoiler tags, no nothing. It was like ''welcome to the site, get yourself a copy of TFF''.
I expect different attitude from sites like that.

If you're not surprised then why did you use "?!" and say "WTF?!" ?

Without the WTF-fake-outrage and the thumbs down smiley, there would be no reason to start an entire new thread for no reason.

Given that bootlegs generally refers to concerts that aren't commercially available and are generally traded by people who, like me, buy almost everything Maiden has put out….you tell me!

Would EMI be any more happy about your "Click Here for TONS of Maiden Bootlegs" signature??
Might I remind you of Bruce's speech on the Give Me Ed tour where he told everyone to go ahead and record and share the new song as long as they bought the album when it came out? If EMI had that much of a problem with it, I don't think Bruce would be promoting their fans doing that.

You should expect to see this record all over the internet. It just leaked! Anyway, it's not too big of a deal, hell, if I wanted to, I could do the same thing as I have the leak, as many of the other members on this forum do as well.

The record companies often don't share a particular artist's views re bootlegs.

That said, I'm not sure EMI will care.  Amazon lists Sony Legacy as the band's new label, and Billboard says Universal Music Enterprises is the distributor in the U.S.  I know the head of litigation at Universal Music Group -- he's VERY aggressive -- and I'd be happy to ask his opinion for you, and direct him to your site, if you like.  :ninja:

EDIT:  I'm just kidding, that's not a real threat.  But my point is, if it would make you nervous to get in the sights of the record company's lawyers, then you probably shouldn't be doing it.  And to be fair, bootlegs are no doubt a lesser concern than leaked versions of a yet-to-be-released album.

It just makes me happy I live in Canada.

I went to a bunch of shows in several countries on SBIT tour.  The Canadian audiences kicked serious ass, and were the nicest, coolest people I met.
