Colombus Day is happening on Monday in the US, do you guys also do that in Canada or is this something else?
No, we don't celebrate that mass murderer and slaver here. It's thanksgiving.
It's not really a celebration here... we used to call it a "bank holiday" (not real), but even the banks stay open on Columbus Day now.
Where I used to live, Thanksgiving was just a day. Where I live now, it's a stat holiday. Ontario has 10 stat holidays - New Year's Day, Family Day (Feb), Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday (Aug), Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. 10 days a year I don't have to go to work. + 15 days vacation a year and 3 personal days. Wow.
What the heck is going on, and what have you tried to resolve it?
