TFF vinyl LP available in the USA?

Has anyone found a copy of the new album on vinyl in the USA?
I seem to have trouble finding a store that has them.
Best Buy says, they are back ordered. So I was wondering if anyone in the US has them.
I figured I would ask here.

Thanks for your time!

But do they actually have it in stock at Amazon right now?
I was just wondering if the vinyls even made it to the US at all yet.
Has anyone seen one at a store or received one in the mail in the USA?
Of course I can order it, which I'm sure I will end up doing. I was just hoping to buy the new album today!

Cool, thanks for the info!
Well since I couldn't find the vinyl in town, I still got the Mission Edition CD anyways.
Have to show support for one of the best bands ever! /m/

Actually the record came today from Amazon, very nice packaging and the picture discs look cool, and it sounds good on the turntable which is why I got it to start with.

^ good to hear. I'll end up getting the vinyl since I purchased quite a few things recently.

It kind of sucks though because my turntable's pitch control is on the fritz and it's very hard to get it right so it plays at the right pitch for a whole album. I have the CD, but that it pretty much ruins a first listening when the pitch is all fucked up and it's slowing down and speeding up.

A question for you guys that have turntables..I have been thinking of getting back  into vinyl/turntable(I got into Maiden playing vinyl back in 82!)

I have long since replaced all my vinyl with cd's/mp3's but I thought it would be fun to revisit the technology of my youth!

Do you all have usb/pc turntables or traditional ones hooked up straight to a stereo?

I think I would only go and get Maiden on vinyl as replacing my entire library would cost a fortune! Any tips for someone looking to get into it?

Thanks in advance..

Up The Irons!

^ I have an old school Technics turntable, I think it's from 76.

I'm willing to bet you could find an older turntable at a used electronics shop, or better yet at a yard sale. You get these people who have hardly used theirs since the 70's or 80's and sell them for like $10! As long as the needle is in good condition I don't think the player's quality itself really matters.

Thanks for the tip Mach!  Do you run your tt straight into a stereo amp?
I remember  that sometimes a preamp was required to run on newer stereos in the late 80's.. are needles readily available?

Don't mean to bombard you with ??'s but I have been thinking about this for a while ...Cheers!

I have a newer Numark turntable. One of the nice ones a DJ would probably use.
Plays and sounds alot smoother than my old Technics one i had from the 80's.
It's not USB and plugs into a reciever/power amp/preamp.
But I guess I'm just old school like that, haha.
I highly recommend trying one of the newer turntables if you can.
You'll be completely satisfied. You should be able to find needles as well. If you have trouble finding them, just try your local musical instrument shops, or stores where they sell DJ equipment.

That said, I have a great vinyl collection including all the Maiden full lengths (except DoD, can't seem to find it) as well as alot of the singles. In my opinion, nothing sounds better than spinning a vinyl record!

What do you think of this one? Not the fanciest but about my budget:  http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/pr ... sku=801258

When I was about 18 I had a nice metal vinyl collection and then I got into cd's and life and and I foolishly stored them in a tin storage shack  :S  Needless to say I kick myself! But It would be great to get back into it!

Sorry to hear about your vinyl collection!  :o
That's the one thing that sucks about vinyl, is you have to really take care of them.

That link to that turntable looks like it should be a good model. Not a bad deal either!
Has USB and regular RCA outputs, so you couldn't ask for much more than that!
I'd say go for it and get your collection going again!

As for me, I need to hunt down TFF and DoD vinyls to complete my collection.

I got rid of so many records int eh early 90s, I could kick myself.  I juse got Death on the Road and Flight 666 (and TFF of course) to re-build all the studio/live maiden albums.  I am working on the singles (and some I never had, like Bring your Daughter which I just got).

My wife bought mne a Sony USB turntable for my birthday last October with an autographed Ace Frehley record (Like his solo stuff quite a bit), I have barely used the USB feature, but play them over the stereo a ton.  I think I am up to 100 records, the Maiden ones have been pricey, but I picked up  quite a few non Maiden ones for $3 and under at Half Priced Books and a few other used record stores, plus eBay and GEMM.

I really enjoy listening to the vinyl and getting new releases on it, plus I have some back issues.  Sitting for too long kills me (I work at home a lot), the records make me get up every 20 to 30 minutes ... perhaps I should expense TFF to my insurance company or write it off as a medical expense?

Getting Somewhere in Time (and others) (and buying it at Texas Tapes and Records), then getting home and lsitening to it and analyzing the cover is a very fond memory, I am somewhat repeating that now.

I understand man!

I remember the thrill of taking the album out of the sleeve (and the sleeve usually had art as well!) and studying the album art and when you were done, sliding it back in the sleeve and filing it away with the collection.

.I guess I'm ready to get back into vinyl (you think?)  :)  Now that I think of it I have seen all kinds of Vinyl lp's at the local flea market for about a buck each..for that price it would be cool to build a collection of oddities along with the serious stuff..
Cheers!

It is fun going through the $1 bins, there is a lot of crap to sort through, but it's like striking gold when you find a gem.  And is some cases, for $1 I'll take a flyer on some bands I had not been into before, for example I have been listening to a lot of Cheap Trick morese now than in the 70s when they were popular.

Kinda back on topic, it is great Maiden is still releasing their new stuff on Vinyl, I wish they would keep doing vinyl singles.  I'd love to have that El Dorado cover.
