I think Perun's distillation of SMX's proposal is nearly perfect.  I'm not sure if there's a clear demarcation between what would go in "General Discussion" and "History Discussion" -- for example, where would the "USA Politics" thread go? -- but it's workable and I'd check both fairly regularly anyway.

I think "Serious Discussion" is almost a better forum than "History Discussion".

That sounds pretty serious. 

Serious Discussion... For example =>

Current General Discussion minus
- sports
- music
- trivia (and all other sticky topics)?
- birthday topics
- other personal topics

If the system can embed the video, but only start the download when you click on it, then that's OK. But I'd be opposed to anything which forces me to download clips just from looking at a page.

That's just as I envisaged, the video only started when you click "play".
