Hello Friends!
I'm beginner in the maidenfans.com
I'm a Brazilian fan and my english is poor.
I have one great doubt:
When Steve Harris founded Iron Maiden in 76, he known of other band called Iron Maiden? (Iron maiden of Bolton and iron maiden of essex in the 70's)
Steve pinched the name or he don't known of other bands called Iron Maiden??
What the True of the choice of the name? Steve came up with the name after seeing the film "man in the iron mask"? or steve's mother came up with the name??
PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!
THANKYOU MY FRIENDS
UP THE IRONS!!

Nope. She chose it from a short list little Steve had already written -- or so the legend says!  :D

Yes, and then some 'mysterious caller' rang Steve after a gig (their first?) to say, 'You can't use that name; it's ours!'.  To which 'Arry replied, 'Piss off, I'm using this name' :D

The called can be quite possibly identified, actually. Anyway, the call made Steve go and register the name the very next day.  ;)

But, BEFORE this gig in cart and horses, Steve known of other band called Iron Maiden?? This is my great doubt!

I think it's very unlikely, considering the other two bands weren't exactly... famous.
