Song vs Song

Never liked death/doom metal. I HATE growling...

It visibly shows you know nothing of what you're talking about!!! Both songs has no growling at all!!! I wonder how many here go to youtube and listen to the songs battling when they don't know 'em. Also, how can one like Sabbath and have no love for Sleep and Cathedral is totally misplacing.

Unnatural World (no growling at all but still horrible vocals)

How Long (Unleashed Away) (Andre Matos) vs Distant Thunder (Shaman)

Well, for someone who likes Andre Matos is funny you call Lee Dorrian's voice horrible. Lee's has an unique voice, an acquired taste but it's something that comes from the heart and from the guts.

Comparing Andre Matos to this dude is like putting in the same level a Ferrari with a 50cc scooter. But it's not the first time you make such comparisons.
It's a mystery how anyone can see heart in that guy's singing.
Anyway let's get on with the game.

Andre Matos is an ill-resolved Bruce Dickinson - always was, always will be. This guy is a diva, a pain in the arse. Annoying as fuck. Metaphorize this guy with a Ferrari is absurd. And you can see heart in this fag singing? I can only see blatancy. If he's a Ferrari, what is Bruce, then?!

Lee Dorrian says he isn't a singer people are used to, but he got his own unique style, just like I prefer Blaze than Ripper Owens. Blaze has his own carachter, knows his craft, write great lyrics and songs. Lee Dorrian is pretty much this way. A steet rocker, which is what's missing since a long time n the rock/metal scene. This song The Unnatural World is fucking mind blowing - memorable riff, great chorus, amazing lyrics, one of my fave guitar duet and solo. His voice is superb on this one. Cathedral rules!!! :edmetal:

Woah, don't take it too seriously, I never had an interest in any doom/death metal band (I heard a couple of songs from My Dying Bride and Sentenced). Doom metal is fair I guess, but I can't stand growling.

What I see is that you still can't get over the fact that a few of your locals have made it big time.Reading these comments I can only perceive jealousy.

It gets better and better.
Anyway, my only problem with the UW was the vocals - I liked the guitars a lot more than the other doomy song which reminded a traumatic experience I had a few years ago with Candlemass.I didn't say anything bad about riffs, solos etc.Truth is that even though it was easy to say which song was better, it didn't make me want to listen more.

Now it would be great if someone continued with the game.If you are too bored to listen leave it to Lady Luck - spin a coin, let's get the game moving on.

I prefer Sepultura, Overdose, Mutilator, Torture Squad, Viper (where André matos started), Ratos De Porão, Sárcofago, Korzus, Avalon, Chakal, Dr. Sin (Michael Vescera sang for them). Check these out. There's much more then a few from here that made it. There's a finnish band called Força Macabra (yes! their name is in brasilian portuguese!) 'cos they love so much brasilian metal that they sing in the language, too. Brasil's music is reverenced all over the world. Just open your mind's eye and you'll find it everywhere.

Where Eagles Dare

Before Tomorrow Comes (Alter Bridge) vs Dead End Friends (Them Crooked Vultures)

@Jeff: These are a lot of names indeed.I only know Sepultura which I don't really like and the bands that Matos and Vescera were in but only as names - it's hard to find those albums. It''ll take some time to check all these but I will.
