Trooper
Pardon me if this has been done before... but the idea is to go through all of the band's original tracks (in alphabetical order rather than chronological for more variety), picking one a day to rate and discuss. After ~24hours I'll compute the average rating that the song gets, update this post to reflect the average rating, and reset the poll for the next song.

A couple of things though:
1) I can reset the poll as much as I want, right?
2) Is one day per song long enough?

Well let's start.

This has been done MANY times before, in the best/worst polls forum, though not in this presentation. Personally I like the idea as it has been a while since we've updated our ratings and we do have several new members. At any rate... 2 A.M... vote has been casted.

Err, it's currently being run in the Polls forum by LC... just done in chronological order not in alphebetical. We're currently on Wrathchild.

Many thanks. Hopefully other people share your opinion.

As for the song, I hear a lot of people bash it for merely being a Blaze song and also because it's a ballad. Personally, I like it and I think it has possibly the best vocal hook of Blaze-era Maiden. The soft parts remind me of NIN's "Hurt"...

I'll stick with the one already started.
It's in the polls form. COme and join us. We've just started Killers.

Good point Jeff, but you included covers.... the poll is on their original work only.

No, prob. Just take the covers out of the list and then we get the list of original Maiden songs in correct alphabetical order.

About 2 A.M., I give it a 9. A melancholic, but powerful ballad with poignant lyrics than one can ever imagine. The melodies are wonderful and the solo in the same mood of the one Janick did on Wasting Love, but the emotion it evokes matches perfectly the sadness, bleakness and despair depicted by the lyrics' carachter.

I don't like this idea, nor the timing of it.

A: There are topics for all the album songs.
B: LooseCannon started recently to do all album tracks.

You could do something for the b-sides though.
