Ok. Anyway my opinion is that the next album will be out in late 2010,and subsequently tour in autunmn/winter 2010...because early next year they will be again on the road in australia and south america for a short tour only...so they will take a break for all rest of 2009.

Since when has the opinion of a half-baked moron ever influenced what Maiden do?

One: you write like shit, and that says a lot about your intellectual capacities.

Two: you don't even understand what you write.

Three: why don't you bugger off and rejoin the writhing maggots in the tip you belong to, and leave us well alone?

I've also heard from a VERY reliable source that they are planning on opening their new recording studio there and getting to work on the new album during their 3 day Maidenfest there. So the album should be released no later than May '09. I can't confirm, but 50 Cent is rumored to be doing backing vocals on at least 3 of the new songs.

Fred Durst and Mick Thompson of Slipknot are rumoured to contribute to a Rap Metal re-recording of Hallowed Be Thy Name which will be included as the next single's B-Side.

Due to massive demand from the fans, Iron Maiden's most popular vocalist Blaze Bailey from their golden years has been confirmed to be rejoining the band.  The old vocalist, Bruce Dickinson, was fired because of this.  When asked to comment, Dickinson replied "I didn't want to be in the band anyway."  He has already been confirmed to join the legendary heavy metal band Korn, and their new album re-recorded with Dickinson on vocals is rumoured to be appearing in January 2009.

all in all i think this is a pretty good comp and a good introduction for new fans. yeah, they have other collections out, but so do many recording artists who have been around as long (or longer) than Maiden, right? besides i never see any of these other "Greatest Hits" in stores (i did see 'the Essential' somewhere once). so maybe it was time for a new collection.

my only complaint is the fact that it's all 100% previously released material. maybe they should have recorded a new version of "Phantom Of The Opera" (i'd love to hear a studio version of this song with Bruce!) or even good ol' "Iron Maiden". or at least some other decent live recordings of those D'ianno-era songs you can't find anywhere else.

If they should've included a new recording of "Phantom of the Opera", they'd better use the one from the Ullevi show in 2005. That's one great performance of the song.

Btw, this compilation will now serve as preparation for a mate from work, he's going to the Lerkendal show on Tuesday after another friend of mine couldn't get back to Trondheim in time because of work another place in the country. I guess he'll be well prepared for the show after a few listens.

I just realized the concert is only three days away. Holy crap, the anticipation is growing now!
