Somewhere Back In Time The Best Of: 1980-1989

I agree with cornfedhick 100%.  Here's why.  I bought 3 of the SBIT best of CD.  One for myself, (I like to collect anything Maiden, plus I love supporting my favorite band in the whole world) one for my daughter and one for her boyfriend.  They went ape shit over that CD!  Screaming and yelling...this is badass to be correct.  I can't say I was all that excited about the cd except for the fact that they (daughter and her BF) were very excited and grateful and that put a very big smile on my face.  And it's moments like that, that are priceless!
Last night at the concert, (Irvine, Ca.) which was just a repeat of the FEB. show for me, was a brand new experience for two 18 year old kids.  It was their first time hearing
NOTB, RTTH and The Trooper live, EVER!
They both screamed the lyrics out word for word which surprised me.  I would have prefered Paschendale as opposed to
FOTD
but when that song came on, those kids went APE SHIT!  They got CRAZY over it and thats when I realized why Maiden choose that song.  I think the set list could have been different but after last night I truly believe it was perfect.

Shouldn't you have put Fear Of The Dark in spoiler tags?  Though I guess it is common knowledge by now...

I also won't mind even if they play Run To The Hills, The Number Of The Beast, Trooper, and Fear Of The Dark.  I've never seen them live, since this will be my first Maiden gig, so I really couldn't care less if they play classics which are supposed to be outside the supposed setlist.  Fear Of The Dark would definitely improve the concert for me.

Edit: Thanks to whichever mod fixed my acronyms (Mav?).  Won't happen again.

My Magic 8-ball says: Ask again later.

Mine says: Holiday for some months, then perhaps some festivals in the summer, and a new album in the winter  :)

A fairly realistic guess and one that I would like - I don't think they will do any significant touring next year and it would be nice if they continued to put out a new album every 3rd year.

After that, who knows? Hope their farewell tour is still many years away.

They've already said at a number of gigs that a new album is coming next year.

Also, they're going to be touring at least Australia, New Zealand, and South America.

Good  B)

By the way, the new compilation album is actually being promoted on TV here in Norway. Is that the case other places as well? Viasat/TV3 have shown commercials for it.

Nicko and Rod have said in diaries that they're coming back to Australia and New Zealand, and Bruce has said onstage and on the radio show that they will be bringing a full tour to South America.

Oh yeah I know, but they will be back in australia and south america EARLY next year,so it will not be an album tour....

Ok. Anyway my opinion is that the next album will be out in late 2010,and subsequently tour in autunmn/winter 2010...because early next year they will be again on the road in australia and south america for a short tour only...so they will take a break for all rest of 2009.

There's definitely going to be an album out next year.

If we examine recent patterns, we can come to the conclusion that the next album (if there is to be one) will be released either late 2009 or early 2010.

It can't be true. Rod said they were definitely not playing Shiraz until 2010.
