Cool. Gonna look after it. I recall someone calling birds the 'Winged Reptiles'.

The part you mention about if birds learned to fly from the top down or ground up reminds me of "We'd glide above the ground before we learned to run, run. Now, it seems our world has come undone". Quite intriguing and poetic.
 
In taxonomy birds are considered a sub-set of dinosaurs, and since one can not evolve out of your own ancestry, we can consider them the modern-day dinosaurs :) I am partly quoting someone I saw in a documentary that I can't recall..
 
I have heard that often. All sorts of species going extinct and fucking birds have been around for millions of years.... :p
 
So going back to the original topic of the thread... Does Nicko believe in birds or dinosaurs?  Or both? :P
 
I think he believes in a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth and all we had to occupy ourselves with was questing for fire...
