I must have missed the meeting. Is there a new rule that says Maiden fans can't also like U2? I never realized the two were mutually exclusive. In fact, their styles are so different that I don't see how you can make any comparison at all.

Or maybe that was your implication: metal fans should be one-dimensional, and never listen to anything that is the least bit different from metal. Personally, I couldn't disagree more.

I like U2's music. I like Maiden much more, but one has nothing to do with the other.

I also think that the IMBB can be ridiculous at times, but this is some of the weakest supporting evidence I've ever seen. If ya don't like the IMBB, don't go there. After all, our own forum can be just as ridiculous in its own way. For example, perhaps you recognize this:

While youth tends to be radical, age should be tolerant... But still PH had a point: a "U2 - good or bad"-type poll is futile as it can only move in two directions - back and forth. I'm glad there's no such poll on MF.
