Sing My Song Chain

On Belgian TV there's a format where artists from different music genres cover each other´s songs. Each episode there's a central artist and all the others sing a cover of him/her.
The idea for this creative writing game is abit similar.

The rules of the game are simple:
- You take a singer from any genre (alive or even passed away) with a song from another artist which you think could´ve been a bloody brilliant cover.
- The next player continues with that same artist and let him "sing" a song from another artist and so on.
- You can´t earn points with this game, the covers won´t be rated or ranked and there isn´t a winner in the end.
- There's no AI involved! Use your own imagination, be creative and most of all: have fun.

I´ll start with a few to get the idea:

Billy Corgan - Octavia

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman covers a Bruce Dickinson solo song! The intro of Octavia fits like a glove and allready has that Pumpkins vibe. Billy´s voice makes the song almost like it could´ve been on Siamese Dream...great starter!

Bruce Dickinson - Jet

Time for Bruce to enter the stage with his version of the Wings classic. Band On The Run and Maybe I´m Amazed would´ve been more obvious choices, and there was even talk about Ebony And Ivory (Thank God he didn´t pick that one) and yet it became Jet! Heavier intro than the original and the verses are sung amazing. Chorus sounds abit weird but Sir Paul´s head nodding is a sign he thinks it´s quite ok. Bruce does his usual scream during the bridge and we get a juicy keytar solo! What a performance!

Paul McCartney - Former Lee Warmer

Paul picked an Alice Cooper song and not one of the hits but one from one of Alice´s forgotten black out 80´s albums: DaDa.
Former Lee Warmer sung by Paul sounds like it was Eleanor Rigby´s long lost nephew. Really interesting track and it shows Beatles and Cooper go together well. Just Imagine (pun intended) John Lennon singing How You Gonna See Me Now...

Alice Cooper - Even Better Than The Real Thing

The shock rocker doing U2? Oh no was our first thougt but after hearing the first lines of the first verse of the Achtung Baby classic we´re allready convinced: Alice does this song justice! In his crooning Poison voice he spits out the chorus as if it was his own song. Pure class!

Bono - I Walk Beside You

The U2 frontman going prog metal? Anything is possible in Sing My Song. It was almost certain he would do Wither but after hearing the Octavarium album and one song in particular he just found his destiny and had to sing the one DT song that´s the closest to U2. And let's be honest: he outshines James on this one...
