Scratch-building a Shaman Eddie...enjoy

Two questions:
1. What did you use as the base, just modelling clay or something else?
2. What would you say is your time sink for the process?

Utterly fantastic work.

Utterly fantastic work.

1. It is plaster, I have a plaster rock mold that I use for model railroad scenery.
2. Maybe 6-8 hours total.

3. For the Eddie, I used a wire frame & modeling clay (Scupley - oven bake clay). It was quite effective.
4. Acrylic paint for 90% of it. The gold and silver is enamel (Testors).

Thanks very much. I'm impressed, and I wouldn't hope to match the work, merely curious about the underlying materials!
