Schwarzeneggers new gig

Sooooooo, Conan is getting remade and NOT with Schwarzenegger. I don't know how I feel about that just yet...
 
Seems all of Arnie's films are being remade...as Commando, Total Recall and Running Man remakes have been confirmed (though Total Recall isn't really a remake as I understand it, its a little more faithful to the original source material).
Commando and Running Man remakes will be crap, they were utterly 80s style films, they can never hope to capture what made those great, what made them great was that they were quintessential 80s cheese. A remake is not only unecessary but completely pointless as I don't seeing them being hits.

Hollywood is stuck with remakes and sequels currently, its going to be a long death it seems.

remakes are a VERY tricky thing. More often than not they turn out to be crap like say... Rollerball and a lot of it does have to do with the era they were made in. I can see commando being better than the original depending on the casting and direction they take it. Conan though... I might wait to see it when it comes out on DVD.

Bennett was awesome! I think you mis-understand what I meant by "good". I mean good in the sense that its a bad film but it still has a spirit and humour to it that make it good to me (and other people who like the cheese).
Just like Raul Julia's performance as Bison in the Street Fighter film, love it!
