To all my fellow setlist speculators:
I will count the scores for each entry in the
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES - The setlist contest thread somewhere down the first two weeks
* of the tour! I shall request the thread to be opened again when I have the leaderboard and all settled.
*I might or might not be able to attend a show or two on the upcoming weeks. Most likely not, but if I'll get lucky there might be bit of a delay with the scoring and all if I'll eventually decide (/try) to remain spoiler free until Stockholm or Helsinki show.
I didn't post an entry this time, but I'll agree with the trending speculation that there is indeed a strong possibility for Killers, Rime of the Ancient Mariner and maybe even Infinite Dreams. Since The Prisoner and a handful of Somewhere in Time songs have been played quite recently, I don't expect any deeper cuts from TNOTB & SIT this time. I believe Phantom of the Opera, Wrathchild, Killers, Running Free and maybe one more cut from the first two albums (inc. Sanctuary) will be played - in addition to Iron Maiden of course... Maybe Prowler, Murders in the Rue Morgue and, as a total wild card and bit of an substitute for Remember Tomorrow, I think Prodigal Son is... not 100% off the cards, but I think of all the speculated deeper cuts (Still Life, To Tame a Land and whatever has been suggested) it's still the least likely one.
I speculated with the idea of visual landscapes of the stage show revisiting the album artworks and themes early on during the tour speculation and the recent message from Rod kind of suggests that something of that nature is possible. A refined version of what they kind of tried with the messy 2050 stage show (Streets of East End) is heavily suggested by the tour promos and having a Powerslave & Seventh Son aesthetics around would give the show some beautiful contrast and set it visually apart from LOTB, although I expect some little tweaks in the stage structure too. My guess is that it'll still look like a Maiden show we've grown to love, but more in the vein of... you know, some of the
"I wish they did something like this..." kind of fantasy stage sets that often popped up in fan forums.

You know, things that don't quite skyrocket the production costs, but utilize the existing show elements to a bit more grandeur extent and add something new too. Whatever it'll be, I hope we'll see more physical, three-dimensional structural props, which could (if done subtly) mask the sleek and "boxy" shape of the good-old stage structure a little bit.
My guess on the song selection, not sure about the order:
Phantom of the Opera
Running Free
Prowler
Iron Maiden
(Sanctuary?)
Wrathchild
Killers
The Number of the Beast
Run to the Hills
Hallowed be Thy Name
The Trooper
Flight of Icarus/Die With Your Boots On
2 Minutes to Midnight
Powerslave
Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Wasted Years
Infinite Dreams
(Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter?)
Fear of the Dark
So, roughly 17 song set, as majority of the set consists of shorter tracks.
I think that not all three from the group Running Free-Sanctuary-Bring Your Daughter... will get played; Simon sure brings some new energy, but I just doubt that they'd want three songs with extended jam sections. Okay, extending those sections is not a necessity, but I also don't see much point in playing any of the three songs without that strong crowd interaction...
Well, the mystery will unravel itself soon enough!
Happy
last weekend before the tour to everyone and may the Angel be with all the Setlist Gamblers out there - results will follow after bit of a wait!
