RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Must say Metallica is well-received among casual listeners, not just metaheads or so, Maiden has always played for declared fans. Maybe after documentary, something will change for them - but honestly, I doubt.
So you're saying that Maiden is selling out stadiums without the help of awards or mainstream media?
If so, it would mean that Maiden is much more appreciated and well known than the other bands since they don't need promotion to sell tickets or albums.

Bravo, Rod!

It means nothing. Metallica could play there as well, it just never happened (yet). Same with Wacken in the past decade, and Maiden is doing better than Metallica in Germany at the moment.
Metallica would never play there. They are too big and expensive for that and Sweden Rock only draw 30k crowds. Like, Iron Maiden are one of the biggest Metal bands there are, but can we stop pretending they are as big as Metallica? Metallica have no problems selling out dual nights with 60k capacity venues, whereas Maiden pull of two nights with 32k here in Sweden by comparison.

Metallica would play there if the offer is good and they call them. Simple as that. No management in the world would turn down easy money. They recently played Copenhell, which is far smaller than Sweden Rock.

Also, Maiden is playing to a combined amount of 80k people in Stockholm.

Sweden isn't the whole world, though.
Also, we have to take in consideration that Metallica don't tour in Europe as often and they mostly play festivals here. For example in Greece, the last time they played in 2010 they had an attendance of 30k people and they played alongside Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer (and Bullet for my Valentine, Stone Sour etc).
Maiden had 45k and 55k people the last 2 times they played in Athens. (same venue as Metallica the one time)

Dual nights with 90% of the same people in the crowd for each of them - I saw Metallica twice and noticed that. In fact, Sweden Rock could draw even 50k for particular nights.

That's simply not true, though. Metallica are more popular in the US, for sure, but not here in Europe/UK. I know many people that don't rate Metallica but nobody that doesn't rate Maiden. Also, Maiden didn't really sell out for radio hits. They don't have songs like "Nothing else Matters". Also many people think that Metallica were great for their first 4 albums, only. Sabbath also have many radio hits and they influenced metal/hard rock, but they have many albums nobody would ever listen to and frankly they haven't released anything good since Dehumanizer.
Accolades like RnR Hall of Fame mean nothing, to be honest. They induct every other pop/rnb artist and every metal/rock band from the US. Priest were inducted 2 years ago, for example. Too late.

Metallica is more popular than Maiden everywhere in Europe, the UK included.
