RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Exactly. Simon's drumming could have been praised without having to criticise Nicko changing the tempo to some songs live. That was uncalled for, but as @Vaenyr has said, Bruce has a tendency to put his foot on his mouth.
I`m sure what Bruce said about speed had already been discussed between the band when Nicko was still a member so doubt it was new news to him although he could have left Nicko out of it i suppose.

Is it ok for Nicko to `joke` about Bruce having timing issues on this tour or is that equally uncalled for .

Equally uncalled for (in my humble opinion).

Adrian was visibly frustrated and annoyed (to say the least) during TFP on most tour dates because of Nicko's tempo issues.

Bruce made self-deprecating jokes about his timing issues in a recent promo video.

Not really jokes, just pointing out what's obvious.

Regarding the comment about tempo it feels like a little dig at Nick, but I don't think there is any bad blood or anything. Bruce and Nicko are close, and Bruce defended him strongly in a interview when fans pointed out the performances in 2023.

Oh, also, if people wanna see how bad blood looks like in 2025 you should take a look at the whole Trivium vs Bullet For My Valentine situation. Or at Mastodon and Brent lol

I hope we can agree that this is not the normal way of dealing with such situations. The goal is always to prevent something like this from happening. Sometimes, however, things go off the rails nevertheless...

And in the case of Maiden, it doesn't have to be bad blood. But a little more to the story than we know?
I wouldn't be so completely sure.

The way Trivium, BFMV and Mastodon are handling things? Yeah, I can agree that this is not the "normal" way.
With Bruce and Nicko though? I can't agree, because I genuinely don't see the issue. To me it feels like people making mountains out of molehills. Especially after multiple jokes of Nicko having been taken out of context to present them in nefarious ways.

Nicko and bruce when bruce left were not that close. I remember nicko talking about bruce in 93 and even until 98. Bruce about steve a few things too

He was just comparing the two. Nicko always sped up or slowed down certain parts and rushed fills, but that's part of his style. It's part of what makes his feel and groove so unique. Simon is more directly on the beat.
If you check videos from 92 or 95 to 98 with blaze. He speed up the songs to an a crazy level. Curitiba 1998. Check the videos.

Or any of the 1999 shows. Aces High from the Ed Huntour has an insane tempo.

And even beyond that, you can take a metronome and check out the studio version of The Wicker Man. From the beginning of the song to the first chorus it keeps picking up the pace and becoming faster.
