For me the least good album of the first three. Every album has less good songs but lots of these Sacred Heart songs sound a bit uninspired. I'd even say they come across as worse recyclings of previous material.

Now, does anyone want any other albums (Heaven and Hell and the other Dio albums specifically) included in this survivor? It seems to be running fairly well and quickly. Of course I can't add anymore if only 1 person wants specific albums so everyone needs to state if they want extra albums included.

Sacred Heart has been eliminated. Rock N Roll Children promoted to Quarters, Hungry For Heaven is promoted to Semis. Dream Evil has joined the battle!

I do not mind what happens next. My own idea: Any of his last three albums contain some tracks which are around the same level as material from the first four Dio releases. Since this is not about best albums but best songs, we could try to continue, but I am pretty sure that -in general- later material won't be as popular as the seventies and eighties stuff, so I estimate nothing of the post-Dream Evil material would reach the final or even semi final.
I am curious about other opinions here. I know Perun likes most if not all Dio albums very much.

I confess I do not know Locked Up the Wolves that well but I can say I dislike Strange Highways and Angry Machines, as I dislike Sabbath's Dehumanizer. I do like heavy music, but -apart from one or two songs- I find this Sabbath album the most monotonous effort Iommi was ever involved with. :yawn:
Dio would follow this direction on his next two albums with his band Dio, Strange Highways (1994) and Angry Machines (1996). So it's no surprise that these are my least favourite Dio albums. After these albums, both Sabbath and Dio returned to their more catchy, melodic and atmospheric style (Cross Purposes (1994) & Magica (2000).
 
I'm a Dehumanizer fan so yes for Dehumanizer rounds. Anyway, gotta relisten to this album.
 
I'd like them all, but I'm not going to bitch if it won't be that way.

Rainbow in the Dark, Naked in the Rain, Overlove, Faces in the Window, When a Woman Cries.
 
I would very much support Dehumanizer and Devil you Know included. Of my personal Dio top10 there's a song from each of those albums. I also quite enjoy Master of the Moon/Killing the Dragon of his solo, but I don't think they would get any into the finals. Same for the rest of the solo stuff tbh (Magica is the only one I dont know too well), they are actually decent albums but I can't see them getting into finals for 2 reasons:
- Good albums sure but there is some utterly outstanding material for them to be put against.
- Most people never bothered to look past Dream Evil so the voters for those rounds would likely be either very few or a large amount of "I vote for all songs from that album".

It was actually kinda tough to pick 3. Again, there are parts of Dream Evil that are definitely not up to the level of some of the other songs displayed here, but at the same time I love the album so it doesn't feel right voting for them! Even Overlove is something I didnt really want to vote for.
