Seriously, I just don't know what to think of this song (and Made of Metal).
Has he crossed a line?

About the new album:

I listened to both the album opener and album closer and I don't find it that great.

Actually, it doesn't urge me to buy the album (at this point). Nor do I want to hear the whole thing via internet because I don't want to be spoiled yet. I'll probably get the album, but it could be a long while before that happens.

So... that's why I stop voting for the moment. Maybe I'll return later and play one or two new songs if they are still left in the top 10.

Foro - the opener and closer are two of the weakest songs on the album. They don't give you an accurate idea of what the album is like.

I think Undisputed is a good song, in a corny way. But no question it's weak compared to the rest.

As for subject matter: I can understand boxing. That's a manly sport, actually requiring some intelligence (they don't call it the sweet science for nothing). But Nascar? Forget it. That's just dumb as hell.

Thanks for the info SMX, that gives some hope at least. Halford is one of my favourite artists so I rather get the real thing first, but I don't feel like buying it soon yet. (Yes I know this sounds contradictional ;) )

I like boxing too (even though I think the song is about MMA) but that's not really my point.
Rob's corny-but-fun lyrics have always been part of his appeal.
But those two tracks sound more like they were commissioned by MMA and NASCAR, instead of inspired by them, if you get my distinction.
Maybe he's really into that stuff, instead of just pandering to their fans.
Maybe I'm just having trouble with the fact that admitting I like these tracks (I think I do) feels like admitting I like professional wrestling (I don't).
Maybe they're just touching a sensitive nerve about the metalheads-are-rednecks stereotype.
Next time Rob, go with hockey and beer.  :P
