Rio De Janeiro Concert CANCELLED

WOW! Thanx for the heads up 'cos I didn't even imagine anything like that happening at an indoor venue. Bad organization is the reason for the fence collapse and it often happens around here, unfortunately.

Is it because they overfill the venue? Cos sometimes it looks like that. Especially in Rio.

Video of the fence breaking. Spoiler cos it is the opener of the show.

And on an unrelated note:
what is that on the floor of the stage? It seems to be on top of the regular floor. Has it been like that the whole tour or is it just for that venue?

What I want to know is why it took so long for Bruce to tell them to step back. He obviously noticed it when the song started. You could see both Janick and Steve telling him what was going on. He just seemed to ignore it for the most part.

Good thing they had Monday and Tuesday off, otherwise there would be no repeat of the show today. By the way, is there no footage of Bruce actually telling the crowd that the show was cancelled?

Wow, that must have been terrible. I know that if I had to travel to get to one of their concerts (I have both times I've seen them, over 400 miles), it would be very frustrating indeed to have to postpone another day. That's another night at a hotel, more food and other expenses that would have to be bought, etc...

But, I hope the fans weren't in any way mad at the band themselves? After watching the two videos (first part with the fence breaking and Bruce telling everyone who rushed the stage to get back, and second with Bruce explaining they had to postpone), I could barely understand what the crowd/cameraman were saying. All I could hear is a bunch of booing, and I heard the cameraman in the second video scream at one point "SON OF A B****" and yelling. Was this at the band?

If anything, they should be mad at the people who, not only broke the barrier, but then stupidly rushed the stage! It's a good thing they get to play again tomorrow, because if they would have had to cancel completely, and if that was my concert, I would have probably went looking for those morons after the show to give them my two cents (I'm sure I'm not the only one either!) heh

What a drama queens.
If this would've happened e.g. in Stockholm, things surely would be taken more easily.

Bruce does this incredibly well by the way. Respect.

Yes very well actually. I'm surprised he didn't get pissed off at the guy who threw a cup at him during the song.

1996: The X Factour in Chile - a fan spits at Blaze

2000/2001 (not quite sure): Brave New World Tour in Argentina - a guy aiming at Bruce's face with a laser pen

2009, Somewhere Back in Time Tour in Colombia: A group of fans causes a riot

2011: The Final Frontier World Tour in Brazil: They fuck up the barricade and cause Maiden to cancel the rest of the show

To the people responsible for making all of that shit happen: You fucking suck and make all South American Iron Maiden fans look like a bunch of jerks to me

Well, Bruce himself said it, the more south they go, the "hotter" it gets. South American fans are the most extreme ones.
