Hey! I'm a reviewer too!
"The prospect of another Iron Maiden compilation was not so pleasing to me. After all, they had released three compilations entitled "Best Of The Beast", "Ed Hunter" and "Edward The Great" within the last nine years.
This one, however, is different. OK so, apart from the "Dance Of Death" tracks "Rainmaker" and "Paschendale", it does not include any song that hasn't been on a compilation before, but there is damn well a live version of the song "Iron Maiden" that has not been released yet, as it is not the same live version as on "Ed Hunter".
Any Maiden fan will be pleased to add this compilation to his collection, as it includes material from the bands entire career. I can't possibly break this down to the individual highlights, but I think we will all be happy to hear "Run To The Hills", "The Trooper" and "Fear Of The Dark" in their original sound, just as on "Ed Hunter". Unfortunately, they missed out some of my favourites, such as "Prowler", "Children Of The Damned", "Hallowed Be Thy Name", "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner", "Powerslave", "Stranger In A Strange Land", "Lord Of The Flies" or "Out Of The Silent Planet", but this best-of album surely does a convincing job in leaving the impression of a forced compilation including two songs of each album.
The packaging of the album is also superb. Not only does it include a nice text that is full of painful and unimaginative puns and leaves the impression of being written at gunpoint, but the cover photograph is the exact reproduction of a picture found in the booklet of "Edward The Great".
And here we have it, the proof of this compilations uniqueness: The cover does not, for once, show the grimly ghoulish mascot "Eddie", a cartoon zombie that has accompanied Iron Maiden throughout their career, but an actual photograph of the band!
In conclusion, this compilation is a must-have for any Iron Maiden fan."
(You're right. I have nothing to do.)
