Ancient Mariner
This is one of my favourite Opeth songs, and an amazing album opener that really sets the mood for the rest of the album. This probably has my favourite harsh vocals from Akerfeldt, he sounds amazing here (as he always does ). The guitar leads and riffs are particularly awesome. The piano bit at the end really eases the song and provides a good amount of relief when listening to the whole album (the best way to listen to Opeth). 10/10.

I don't like the screaming vocals. They're annoying. I like the rest of the song. 8

I didn't use to like them either, but once I got used to them I began to find myself really liking the growls.

This was the song that got me into Opeth and for that, I give it a high score of 9. To be honest, you could of chosen just about any track from Blackwater Park and got a good score from me - good album.

It still gets me that every-time I play it, I hear nothing for a second or two and sit there wondering "is it playing? Is my volume on mute?"

The opening is so ominous :p Sometimes I have turned my volume way up because I think its too quiet and then that awesome opening riff just comes blasting out and knocks me over :p
