Question about Rob Halford

After scanning the web for an answer (without finding any) I just decided to ask the question here: What's the name of the technique Rob Halford use on i.e. Painkiller, Resurrection and Riding on the Wind? I know it's something falsettolike, but it's very 'harsh' so there's got to be another word for it than just a 'falsetto'.
