Tell me about it, mate. [!--emo&:(--]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

There's no passion without pain either.

I still remember Freaky's dismayed face when he realised that he wasn't going to meet his heroes in Uster! [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Okay I just want to add a few things to my first post to this topic. The song Blasphemy spearates true heretics from those who simply question Christianity. For Matthew 12:31, Mark 3:28-30, and Luke 12:10 delcares blasphemy of the Holy Ghost -- not even murder or rape -- to be the only unforgivable sin that ensures damnation. Oh, and about the title of the topic, just because a song is satanic doesn't mean it's nonsense! [!--emo&^_^--]/happy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'happy.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Those two words don't go automatically together as some would have you believe.

I'm not so sure if "all knowledge leads ro understanding, transformation and progress", Charlotte.

Also, let me point out that "progress", I believe, is (what's the opposite of underestimated? I don't remember the word) too much estimated. It doesn't always take us to a positive state of being.

Grrrrr...I can relate to this, when I told people that I listen to Maiden, they started making high pitched screams and called me a satanist...That really pissed me off. People need to understand what a song means before judging it as a satanic song (The Number Of The Beast for example, about a dream Steve had, not about worshipping satan)

I just let shit go. People don't like it, fuck 'em. I get so many people that do like Maiden (none under 30), though, it's so funny. People just come up to me and talk about my shirt for ten minutes. This one guy in Dunkin' Donuts was like "Iron Maiden, huh? You kids like that?" And I'm like "Yeah, not too common." THen he was like, "I say them back in '83 or something. World something tour..." I turned around wearing my World Piece Tour shirt and was like "World Piece Tour, '83?"

Oh, someone tried to once convince me that 'Lil Jon is a better rapper than Iron Maiden.

And metal applies to so much, especially Maiden. In english we read 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' and I was like "Maiden wrote a song." Then we read 'To His Coy Mistress' and said it again. In history, we talked about WWI and I was like "Paschendale." We talked about the battle of Britain and I though "Aces High." Then people try to tell me that Black Eyed Peas' song 'My Hump' is real music. The first lines are:

What you gon’ do with all that junk?
All that junk inside your trunk?
I’ma get, get, get, get, you drunk,
Get you love drunk off my hump.
My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump, my hump, my lovely little lumps.

And you're saying that's real music? They use the same two words 8 times consecitively. If you care to read the rest of the lyrics, go here: [a href=\'http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/blackeyedpeas/myhumps.html\' target=\'_blank\']http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/blackeyedpeas/myhumps.html[/a]

Haha, when my dad found out I was a Maiden fan, he was so surprised.

People always try to convince me that other bands are better than Maiden, my response? "Yeah right!"
Generally, knowledge is fundamental. True, I can imagine individuals so stupid and stubborn that they don't want to and won't be transformed. But they can at least be made curious [!--emo&:)--]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
I agree that progress is not always for the good. But I don't think it's overestimated. Stagnation eventually causes decay, no matter how good things are.

I think youth is too proud of what they are and so put a false title upon them like the Nu-Metal dudes. I'm sadly a teenager, listening Maiden, did a presentation about Metallica last year [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--] . I bet they thought they'd gone mad after not hearing anything close to satanism.

I think it's just all bullshit. People say "How can you listen to that mindless shit". We had a test at school last year and it seemed I am intellectual gifted, Especially at the "Common Sense" part, 1 was above average, 2 was high above average. I had about 3,3 [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--] So all of the assholes saying it's mindless claim that someone with a very high common sense and who is intellectual gifted is listening to mindless music? I think the people in our country being racists and listening to Hardcore (If your not farmiliar be glad, just pounding on a bass at 200 db) are mindless.

People who have never heard Iron Maiden, Metallica etc seem to think that the singing is all just grunting and screaming. However, these people have never heard any Iron Maiden or Metallica so they base their views on metal from Slipknot or Limp Bizkit. Anyone who has heard any Metallica will claim that Enter Sandman is heir best song and that One or Battery are shite. They have probably only heard Run to the Hills or Bring your Daughter.. and say that Bruce sings in a high-pitched girly voice. These claims really piss me off and I don't understand why people have to be so narrow minded.
