Powerslave lyrics meaning?

heres the song--->
Bruce Dickinson)

Into the abyss I'll fall-the eye of Horus
Into the eyes of the night-watching me go
Green is the cat's eye that glows-in this temple
Enter the risen Osiris-risen again.

CHORUS
Tell me why I had to be a powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a god, why can't I live on?
When the Life Giver dies, all around is laid waste.
And in my last hour,
I'm a slave to the power of death.

When I was living this lie-fear was my game
People would worship and fall-drop to their knees
So bring me the blood and red wine for the one to succeed me
For he is a man and a god-and he will die too.

CHORUS

Now I am cold but a ghost lives in my veins,
Silent the terror that reigned-marbled in stone
Shell of a man God preserved-a thousand ages
But open

Powerslave" is the title track of the fifth album by heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It tells of the rise and fall of the mythological Eygptian Chaos God, Set, to the hands of the Sky God, Horus. (Into the abyss I'll fall-The eye of Horus). He was then sent to the God of the afterlife, Osiris, who was reborn. (Enter the risen Osiris-Risen again). He just can't believe that this has happened to him after he built such an empire, and doesn't see it fair that he, a God, must die.

The use of Egyptian imagery, such as the eye of Horus, and allusions to mythology is allegorical for vocalist Bruce Dickinson's spiteful outlook on the music industry, and how their greed and disrespect for talent leads to their own demise. On live performances of this song, Dickinson wears a theatrical mask. The first guitar solo is played by Dave Murray, the second one by Adrian Smith and the third by Dave Murray.
Its sure a cool song. One of the best.
