Potter & Tolkien discussion

Then write about them the way you would write about different chapters in a book. ;)

Sorry for going off-topic. I'll stop now, I guess.  :D

I think it is an immersion thing.  I often have to work to immerse myself in music - it doesn't happen naturally.  Books I absorb into very rapidly.

I'm the exact opposite. I can (and usually do) listen so deeply to any music I hear that I often appear distracted or absentminded with regard to other things. Reading a book requires shutting down all distractions, or else I can't get into it.

Furthermore, the Department of Mysteries battle is by far the best climatic action sequence in the books.

No way. Battle of Hogwarts from the 7th book if you want a "climatic" sequence. Otherwise, the best action sequence overall is also from book 7: the bank robbery. First time since the dragon-fight in book 4 that I've said to myself: "I can't wait to see how they do this in the movie."

I am exactly the same as you then. Background music is not in my dictionary.

I seem to be the only person in the world who thinks the fifth book is the strongest in the Potter series.

Most of my friends think this, you're not alone.

I myself prefer the 6th.

I think 5-7 is the best books because Harry gets a more deep personality! I think 6 was good because of the humour and love :P
