Places to visit in London?

I'll be travelling to London in Jan 2011. Where, apart from the obvious sights, would you send me for

-good record stores? (vinyl )

-places with a general relation to Maiden, metal or the NWOBHM (clubs, studios, record stores, DiAnnos flat , the corner where Eddie met Maggie...just anything for the incurable aficionado to take a picture

-places to have a pint

never been to London so I'm not sure if these places still exsist or where you could find them. Ruskin Arms, the Bandwagon, The Hammersmith Appolo (formely Hammersmith Odeon) The Rainbow. Cart and Horses, The Music Machine.  The London Dungeon. That is all I can think of at the moment.

That one has been closed down, there's a thread here in the vaults somewhere about that. A real tragedy, I had a good time there.

There still seems to be something going on at the Ruskin Arms, it seems (confer facebook) The Cart and Horses is only a few minutes' walk from my hotel, so I might give it a try!
