Re: Pink Floyd Survivor FINAL BATTLE: Time vs. Shine On (Jan 21-22)
Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Parts I-V
Well, Shine On surely demonstrates their musical capabilities, but Time does that in lyrical department also.
As i've frequently noticed, Animals features their best lyrical material. But the subject is tough, songs are long and full of metaphors. On the other hand, Time has really one of the best lyrics written around. They are full of emotion, simple, relevant, and will click with any human being that appreciates any kind of music.
Also, while the solo on Comfortably Numb is arguably the best ever played, solo on Time really captures the song flawlessly. The melancholy and nostalgia just fly out of Gilmour's notes.
So i hope Time wins.
