What laptop is suitable for musicians and heavy net user like me? I want to be practical but i am willing to spend more if it's worth it. I don't know about the specs. Please give me some tips...

I find (LC will argue this) Mac's to be overpriced. Their build quality is superior to cheap, low end PC laptops, but you can get an equally good (with the same build quality) PC cheaper anyway.

HOwever, for musicians Macbooks have a few advantages. First off, once you get to know them they are quite user friendly. Secondly, they are very compatible with different software. Thirdly, you get Garageband bundled with OSX, which is a beginner's DAW ( Digital audio workstation).

The biggest advantage is however that you can use the DAW Logic with Mac. I find Logic superior to all other DAW's I've used (though I prefer Pro Tool's I/O channel selection system - Could be though because I've used  Pro tools more than Logic lately in school). And finally, Pro Tools is much more stable on a Mac. At least Pro Tools M-powered. Logic and Pro Tools are the most widely used professional DAW (Logic is closing in though), so the fact that Mac's can run both flawlessly is something yo should take into consideration, even though you get better specs for less money with a PC.

So. To get away with it cheaply: A PC.

For compatibility: A Mac.

*Facepalms over the fact that I took the time to type this out for an advertiser. *
