Pretty fun! Opeth only played eight songs (as seen below), but they were still awesome. Mikael's growls were spot-on, unlike their most recent DVD (Royal Albert Hall) where they sound terrible...

Eternal Rains Will Come
Cusp of Eternity
The Drapery Falls
The Moor
Windowpane
The Lotus Eater
The Grand Conjuration
Deliverance

The night afterwards they played one less song (they omitted Grand Conjuration), probably because In Flames wanted to add another song or two that sound just like the rest of their set.

That's a great setlist, even if it is quite short! Would've loved to have seen it.

I wonder if they are swapping headlining spots each night? It would make sense, i.e. drop one song, now they have a support-length set.

I was at the Opeth gig in Ankara on the 23rd. The band was off the charts. Mikael said he had a sore throat but nailed the entire performance. Had some of those classic Akerfeldt crowd interactions here and there. Opeth is definitely a must-see band if they're ever in your town, they put on a really good show. The sound system in the venue wasn't the greatest as it made it really difficult to hear Martin Mendez's bass.

The highlights of the show were Windowpane, The Moor, The Devil's Orchard, The Grand Conjuration. Conjuration was a major surprise for me because it isn't a song that I particularly care for. But it was damn good live. The band played Deliverance as the closer but it was a bit ruined by the sound system which is a shame. Elysian Woes was the only weak point of the show, they could've picked a better song from the latest album. I'd love to hear Faith in Others, for example. Crowd participation was on point, with the strongest participation being in the "God is dead" part of The Devil's Orchard. It was cool. :D

Glad you had a great time! I've only seen them once, but it was amazing.

I really don't understand why they're playing Elysian Woes. I understand that they always want to do a mellow tune, but Elysian Woes is hands down the weakest track on the album.

That was cool. It starts very Opeth but gets a bit more original as the album progresses. Good stuff.
