I mirror your non-belief, except replace Nepenthe with Slither, because Nepenthe is the worst song on the album and Slither is Top 3.
Slither is my least favorite, way out of place. Just realized I had Nepenthe confused with a different song on the album. 
This is a tough album to rank. There are bits of it that I like but at least half the songs I wouldn't be able to recognize by name. The whole thing really flows together for me.

The whole album does bleed together, it's true. Without Slither, I think the atmosphere would become quite dull far too early in the album. My biggest problem with Nepenthe, and half of the album, is the terrible and/or complete lack of musical transitions between unrelated parts.
