Online petition to get Iron Maiden to play Wembley Stadium in 2013

The thing with Sonisphere is that it's a touring festival so there's less negotiating and it gives the band a solid string of tour dates than they can fit other shows around. Plus Maiden's booking agent co-owns Sonisphere. (The UK-leg also needs a solid booking after cocking up this year, if they decide to run the festival again.) They played on that tour in 2010-2011 too and I think there was a fairly credible rumour that they have agreed to (or at least in advanced dicussions to) play Sonisphere France next year which might be the same weekend as the Knebworth leg.
 
Well I don't think that is likely to happen. They didn't sell out Twickenham and Metallica didn't sell out Wembley. Iron Maiden are not a stadium band in the UK. It's arenas and festivals for them and I'm quite happy with that.
 
I know they did it last year, but a tour with more than one (festival) gig in the UK would be nice.

Wembley, no chance at this point. There would have to be some extraordinary series of circumstances before that would sell out.

I think the closest that Iron Maiden are likely to get to playing at Wembley Stadium is if the English football/rugby teams change their anthem to 'Jerusalem' and Bruce gets invited to sing it before the match.
