Official Iron Maiden artwork and fan drawn Eddies (no AI images please)

I've always wondered - why Soldier Eddie is barefoot on the AMOLAD cover? He is a soldier! (*the walk-on Eddie during the 2006/2007 tour was not barefoot). The skeleton army is not barefoot.

Was it an artistic decision or a band decision? Maybe this was done to somehow illustrate Eddie's strength.
 
The calendars for the last 3 albums make a great collage:

The Triple Threat! One of Maiden's best Eddies imo. I wish all albums had artwork like this for thier calendars (only with Eddie as a central figure). The full-length view works so well for TBOS and especially for TFF Eddie (and with planets as a background). Awesome!

For Senjutsu, they could have used one of the epic bonus artworks (Pagoda battle scene, the castle and army in the rain or the forest scene):

Boots worn out from marching long distance was one thought I had, otherwise he's kind of a reanimated corpse, bits of clothing and flesh rotted away
