Obsequiae: The Palms of Sorrowed Kings new album November 22nd 2019

been listening to the two new Obsequiae tracks on repeat for the past month. The harsh vocals (which I'm not usually a fan of) were never a problem for me - they're mixed beneath the melodic guitar wall and have little in common with many death-type growls that sound more like someone trying to kick my ass or someone getting sick and throwing up.

The guitar melodies are fantastic - even Maidenesque at times. Many of their songs have acoustic intros (often played on a Harp). I hope other Maiden fans enjoy these songs as much as I have.

This song gets straight to the action, no harp or acoustic intro:

can't get enough of the title track from Obsequiae's full-length debut. Some of the stop-start phrasings recall "Where Eagles Dare", and the guitar tone recalls the Murray/Smith guitar tone on the Somewhere In Time album

Superbly melodic yet heavy as all get out rendition of "Anlace and Heart" (Aria of Vernal Tombs album) from this year's Fire In The Mountains festival:
