NOW PLAYING

I admit that I don't appreciate modern composers much in general. I mean, I get Messiaen, Ligeti, Berg, Schönberg and so on. I usually get the musical ideas they try to express, I can enjoy their work to some extent, but it's mostly just brain. I do hardly ever get emotionally engaged there.

Bartók is one of the main exceptions. Perhaps it's because of his inspirations in ethnomusicology and peasant songs, but even when he's being really dissonant, he is thrilling, captivating, beautiful.

Also, this is metal as fuck.

P. S. - oh, and the technical virtuosity this requires is really something else. From both the pianist and the orchestra.
