Judas Priest - Fire Burns Below

From the '88 sessions. It would have been a nice/setting the mood ballad-y piece (and for that era) - instead of trying to write a longer ''Defenders Of The Faith'' in the form of ''Monsters Of Rock'' for example (or the cover, ofc). Love the acoustic string and the great classic harmonies(!).

Now I’m listening to the opening track “The Gates of Delirium” by Yes, and around the 8:50 - 10:20 mark my mind goes: "I can hear a distant proto-version of the coda from “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” title track. There’s definitely something similar there, or at least in the same vein.

Pantera - The Art Of Shredding

One of the most notable thrash metal songs, big fan of the heavy riffs (the production is perfect for them, you won't get the same feel with a modern sound), the intro sets the mood really well. I would like such heaviness in at least one song on every album.

So this must have been Rob Halfords first solo thing/guest appearance after he left Priest? He left Judas Priest in May 1992 and he guested on this track that was released September 1992? Watch out for the shrieking chorus. At the end he basically says hello :p

Izzy Stradlin and the JuJu Hounds (1992)

Strong album!
