This makes me feel really old as this was my first Maiden album!
It's not the best Maiden album but it's not the worst and it has great instrumental passages. It has a special meaning to me those days. I was 16 then and I remember with affection.
This. The instrumental work is great and the album is great and fun to listen to in full. Yeah, it's weaker than most Maiden albums, but I feel it's kind of underrated. It didn't ''shined'' because it was released after SSOASS, because of the stripped down approach, no songs written by Janick, no Adrian and some weaker and simpler songwriting (like the next album, but even more so). As Adrian said, the album was rushed and that's true. It's not the best Maiden album but it's not the worst and it has great instrumental passages.
I agree, the original is preferable, but the piano variant is nice. Same with Mythodea Movement 9, which is probably my favorite Vangelis piece of all time. Still works on the piano, but it’s not the same without the opera singers!Nice, although it is difficult to beat the original one (a tune I adore!).

TXF will always have a special vibe with its musical ideas and passages. This is an album that cannot be left ignored by the listener because there is so much emotion created by certain parts, playing and Blaze's voice for sure. A true statement from the band after their ''rock'' era.
TXF or AMOLAD? Maybe TXF has an edge. SJ is the third one.Maidens dark pearl

RAW has some big classic songs, but I'm not a big fan of some of the more rock-type of songs: ''Ahead Of The Pack'', ''Shake Your Heads'' (its pre-chorus should have been the chorus, so much better and melodic), ''Get Ready'' (it's the best AC/DC-esque song on the album). ''Demon's Night'' too (not that average though). ''Don't Go Stealing My Soul Away'' is vintage Accept rocker and it's better than all these songs imo.
Yeah. It has some fillers but it contains 2 classics: Fast as a shark and Princess of the DawnRAW has some big classic songs, but I'm not a big fan of some of the more rock-type of songs: ''Ahead Of The Pack'', ''Shake Your Heads'' (its pre-chorus should have been the chorus, so much better and melodic), ''Get Ready'' (it's the best AC/DC-esque song on the album).
