What's with this "Fugitive"/"Starblind" complexity thing everyone talks about here? Never quite understood it.
 
You might think that, but US radio buffs thought it was too complex in unedited form. It was just too much for your average radio listener.

It also have and a radio edit version of Coming Home with a cover art for a single.

Btw, the radio edit version of The Wicker Man is great with that additional chorus.

But where did it come from? How did it start?
It started in the studio when Maiden were writing & recording The Fugitive. Apparently it was so complicated that Nicko & Steve had to practise the rhythm sections on their own for a whole week. Lots of sections had to be redacted, simplified, or just plain abandoned. Listeners would have found it incomprehensible. As it stands, the studio version is merely complex. Difficult, but fans have grown to appreciate this buried masterpiece from the dark-days sans-H era...
