Oh yes.
After a few days in Edinburgh we hired a car (my wife drove, me being sadly incapable), went to Tomintoul, hiked in the area, then Ardersier via the Moray coast (Lossiemouth to Burghead); were supposed to go to Orkney but plans drastically changed since everything there was taken. Fort George, a day in Inverness, then all the way along Loch Ness to Fort William and from there to Aberfeldy where we stayed for some days making a trip to Oban, back via Kilmartin, and another to Loch Lomond; then Stirling (with Doune Castle) and back to Edinburgh to return the car and fly to London. Loved every minute of it, both of us.
