Kiss - Hotter than Hell (1974)
50th Anniversary!!!
Classic Kiss. Ace is on fire and his playing is noticeable for 1974. Some of the choruses are not that good for me, but the album is varied and has no fillers imo! The riffs in Parasite, Watchin' You, Strange Ways are big for its time and Let Me Go, Rock 'N Roll is still one of the best rock songs.
Every song has something memorable, whether it's a vocal line, riffs, solos (like Adrian's in I Wanna Stay, for example), verses - which is great for a new band/debut album. They shine in the slower songs (Scars, You Don't Know Me, I Wanna Stay, the closer with its great Psycho Motel vibe). Really one of the best albums of its style. I like it even more now. Very enjoyable and quality project. Let's see if they will match it with the 2nd album.
I have to say though I prefer Adrian's voice and for him to take more solos.
From the Better Days EP I only don't like 1 song - Rise Again, although I dig the tempo. The rest is album-worth material.
